This wired connection can be extended anywhere in your building using low-voltage wiring (usually CAT6), which makes it ideal for new construction or substantial rehab projects when it can be installed during construction. Wired networks are a critical part of any installation, even when building-wide WiFi will be the primary distributor of the broadband signal.
Should you choose to extend low-voltage wiring to every unit of your building, this will allow individual units to have private WiFi networks in their home on which smart IoT devices like lighting, thermostats, and voice-enabled assistants can be layered.
